Outpatient Surgery Patient Information

What you need to know

Prep Clinic The Prep Clinic provides one-stop testing for surgical patients. Following registration, the prep clinic nurse and anesthesiologist complete an assessment of each patient in a private room, where lab tests and EKG testing are also performed. X-ray or other imaging tests, if required, are completed in the unit’s state-of-the-art radiology rooms.  The Prep Clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  For information about your prep clinic appointment please call 618-234-2120.

SATURDAYS: The Prep Clinic is closed on the weekends.  For Lab, EKG testing, or X-rays on Saturdays patients should register in Central Registration on the main floor of the hospital and will be directed to the testing departments after being registered.

Outpatient Surgery Location— Located on the hospital’s second floor, our Outpatient surgery unit provides patients with private rooms, each with its own bathroom, television and telephone. Used to help you prepare for and recover from outpatient surgical procedures, these rooms are also available for family members who join you during your stay.

Our surgery suites — Your surgical team will perform your surgery using the latest technology and least invasive procedures possible in one of our nine new surgery suites.

Registration: You will receive a telephone call from our staff prior to your visit to gather insurance and other information. When you arrive at St. Elizabeth’s, report directly to Outpatient Surgery.
